New Haven, Conn. - Sophomore Courtney Cacace (Brookfield, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus College women's lacrosse team has been named as the Albertus Magnus Female Student-Athlete of the Week. Initiated in September, 2017, the 'Athlete of the Week' program recognizes one female and one male student-athlete each week for demonstrated excellence on the playing field.
Cacace scored eight goals with two assists for 10 points to go with five ground balls in a 1-2 week for the Falcons. She tied her season-best eight points, behind six goals and two assists, in the 16-10 win over Mitchell. The sophomore attack also finished out the week 2-of-5 in free position shots and two caused turnovers.
In the week ahead, the women's lacrosse team hosts Johnson & Wales on Tuesday before hitting the road on Saturday to face Norwich.
