Westfield, Mass. – The Albertus Magnus College women's basketball team suffered its first loss of the season at Westfield State University, 103-93, on Thursday evening in non-conference play at the Woodward Center.

THE BASICS
FINAL: Westfield State University 103 | Albertus Magnus College 93
RECORDS: Albertus Magnus (7-1) | Westfield State (4-2)
ALL-TIME RECORDS: Following tonight's win, Westfield State improved its all-time series record to 10-2 against Falcons.

HOW IT HAPPENED

A 17-3 Owl run in the middle of the second quarter started by a Chelsea Mousette jumper and bookended by a Lucy Barrett fast break layup, erased a one-point deficit and staked Westfield a 44-31 advantage, a lead they would retain till the final buzzer.

Albertus was able to shrink the margin to three towards the end of the third quarter, 70-67, on a Shyla Osmond (New Haven, Conn.) jumper, but back- to- back threes by Taina Slaughter and Moussette provided all the cushion the Owls would need to ride out the victory.
