Albertus Magnus College President Dr. Marc M. Camille To Serve As Chair of NCAA Division III Presidents Council

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - During its August 4 meeting, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Presidents Council elected Albertus Magnus College President Marc M. Camille, Ed.D., to serve as its next Chair. Dr. Camille has been serving on the Council since 2023 and is currently serving as its Vice Chair. His term as Chair will begin with the close of the 2026 NCAA Convention in January.

The Presidents Council is the highest governing body in NCAA Division III intercollegiate athletics and its responsibilities include the establishment and oversight of Division III policies, divisional strategic planning, sponsoring legislation and advocacy to the NCAA Board of Governors on behalf of D3. The 23-member body consists of 21 college presidents/chancellors and two student-athletes, representing half of the division's 42 multi-sport conferences.

In serving as Chair, Dr. Camille will continue working collaboratively with other Council members on behalf of the nation's more than 205,000 NCAA Division III student-athletes. In his current role as vice chair, Dr. Camille chairs the Division III Strategic Planning and Finance Committee and Futures Subcommittee, while also serving on the Division III Administrative Committee and on the NCAA Board of Governors' Finance and Audit Committee.

"I am humbled to be elected to serve as the Chair for the NCAA Division III Presidents Council and look forward to continued work with my fellow Presidents Council colleagues," noted Dr. Camille. "As a former three-sport NCAA D3 student-athlete, I am a product of the D3 model, in which the academic and holistic student experience are prioritized, while promoting athletic competition and growth at the highest levels in a spirit of sportsmanship and respect. I am equally proud and passionate to represent and advocate for our student-athletes at Albertus, those from our home Great Northeast Athletic and United Collegiate Hockey conferences, and all those students competing among the more than 400 NCAA D3 member institutions."

Dr. Camille began his tenure as the 14th President of Albertus Magnus College in June 2017. As President, he has inspired Albertus to launch an ambitious growth plan, leading to the five largest incoming classes in the College's history and an all-time high traditional undergraduate enrollment, up 54% since 2017. The Albertus intercollegiate athletics program has thrived under Dr. Camille's leadership, with numerous facilities enhancements, full-time head coaching positions funded, and new varsity field hockey, swimming and diving, women's golf, and women's and men's ice hockey programs launched. Albertus will celebrate its historic Centennial Celebration in 2025-26.

In addition to his NCAA Division leadership roles, Dr. Camille's service has included chairing the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Presidents Council and the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce's Regional Leadership Council, and he also has served in leadership Board roles for the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities and Connecticut Conference of Independent Colleges.
