NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Elijah Spataj (Cheshire, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus College baseball team was named to the D3Baseball.com All-Region 1 Third Team as a designated hitter.
It is the second honor for Spataj this season after he was also named to the 2025 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Second Team. It also marks the first time a member of the Albertus baseball team has made the All-Region Team.
Spataj, a senior, finished his season with a slash line of .390/.411/.580 as his batting average ranked him fifth in the GNAC this season, and his slugging percentage, eighth. He also had two home runs, two triples and nine doubles while driving in 28 runs and scoring 18.
He had 12 multi-hit games this season, including a 4-for-5 performance where he had a triple and drove in six runs while scoring one in a 12-10 win over Lakeland on March 14. He also had home runs against Gwynedd Mercy and Coast Guard during the season.
Spataj is fourth on the all-time home run list at Albertus with 17 home runs and is fourth all-time in RBI with 113.
This is the second time in Spataj's career that he made the D3Baseball.com All-Region team. He also made the third team in 2022 while attending Anna Maria.
