HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Falcons jumped to the 1-0 lead in the first inning as Brayden Hastings (Wallingford, Conn.) singled on to bring home Galarza.
  • Albertus brought home four more runs in the fourth as Baltazar Mesa (Santo Domingo, D.R.) sent a 2-1 pitch to left field to double home Hastings. The Falcons then executed a double steal as Nick Ramos (Mineola, N.Y.) stole second and that allowed Mesa to steal home in the process. Espada later doubled on the first pitch he saw to bring home Ramos, and Espada soon followed that up with a steal of home.
  • Lasell came within one in their half of the fourth as Declan Silva sent a 1-0 pitch over the wall for a grand slam with no outs.
  • With the Lasers down to their last at-bats in the bottom of the seventh, Tim Callahan singled home Jonah Nielson to tie the game 5-5.
  • In the bottom of the eighth, Nick Nigro hit a sacrifice fly to center, scoring Jeremy Angeles for the game-winning run.
