RINDGE, N.H. - The Albertus Magnus College baseball team split a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) doubleheader against New England College on Sunday afternoon. The Falcons dropped the first game, 12-10, but bounced back to take game two, 16-2 in seven innings.
Alex Perez (Meriden, Conn.) hit his third home run in the last two games in game one and drove in three runs. Joey O'Hara (Bethel, Conn.) hit his fifth home run of the season in the first game and drove in five runs throughout both games.
Mark Whittington (Meriden, Conn.) and Robert Anton (Woodbury, Conn.) each had homers in game two as well as driving in three runs apiece. Eric Galarza (Bridgeport, Conn.) scored three runs and drove in three
Nathan Rivera (Windsor, Conn.) got the win in game two, striking out nine batters in four innings.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After surrendering two runs to the Pilgrims in the bottom of the first, including an RBI triple by Ryan Cote, Perez hit his third homer in his last two games to tie the game at one.
- NEC got a run back in the bottom of the second to take a 3-2 lead, but the Falcons exploded for six runs in the top of the fourth, including an RBI single by Perez, a two-run double by O'Hara, an RBI double by Whittington and two sacrifice flies.
- The Pilgrims scored one in the bottom of the fourth on a solo homer by Bobby Trigilio, but added eight more runs in the bottom of the fifth, Brady Philibotte hit a two-run homer, Charlie Greenberg added a two-run single. With the bases loaded, an error plated three more runs for NEC as the Pilgrims took a 12-8 lead.
- Albertus rallied for two runs in the top of the sixth. With two outs and a runner on, O'Hara launched his fifth home run of the season, making it a 12-10 game. Albertus would leave runners on the corner.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After scoring a run in the first, the Falcons got three more runs in the top of the third, courtesy of an error by the Pilgrims defense.
- NEC got a run back in the bottom of the third.
- Albertus would score 12 runs over the next two innings. In a seven-run top of the fourth, Eric Galarza hit a two-run single, and three batters later, Whittington hit a two-run double. Albertus scored two more runs on an NEC error after a ball off the bat of Perez.
- In the top of the fifth, Robert Anton hit a two-run homer, his first of his career, to increase the Albertus lead to 12-1. O'Hara later hit an RBI triple. After a sacrifice fly from Hastings, Whittington launched his third homer of the season to put Albertus ahead, 15-1.
- Anton added one more RBI on a single in the top of the sixth.
