HAMDEN, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus College baseball team won its second straight game, defeating the University of Mount Saint Vincent (UMSV), 13-10 in a back-and-forth game on Wednesday afternoon at Rochford Field.
Noah Grosso (Farmington, Conn.) had three hits for the second straight game while scoring two runs and driving in three. Jacob Encarnacion (Danbury, Conn.) was 2-for-4 with two doubles, a run and an RBI. Eric Galarza (Bridgeport, Conn.) hit a tie-breaking home run in the bottom of the seventh, scored two runs, and drove in two on the day. Gianni Barberio (New Milford, Conn.) scored three runs and went 1-for-3. Adriel Espada (Bridgeport, Conn.) went 2-for-4 with rwo runs and an RBI.
Peyton Thomas (Washington, Conn.) earned his first win in relief for the Falcons after retiring the side in order in the seventh.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Dolphins erupted for five runs in the top of the first inning, including a grand slam by Michael Akalski with one out.
- Albertus got two runs back in the bottom of the first, including a sacrifice fly by Brayden Hastings (Wallingford, Conn.). The Falcons took a 6-5 lead after a four-run second inning. After the first two batters walked, Grosso hit an RBI single. Two batters later, Joey O'Hara (Bethel, Conn.) hit an RBI single and another sacrifice fly from Hastings and an RBI double by Encarnacion put the Falcons ahead.
- Grosso added a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the third to put Albertus ahead, 7-5.
- The two teams exchanged a run in the fifth inning and the Dolphins would take the lead in the top of the sixth after a three-run homer from Will Granata to make it a 9-8 game. The lead didn't last long as Albertus tied it in the bottom of the sixth on a sacrifice fly from Nick Ramos (Mineola, N.Y.).
- In the bottom of the seventh, after a walk to Grosso, Galarza ripped the first pitch he saw over the fence for his second homer of the season to put Albertus ahead, 11-9.
- The Dolphins closed the gap to one run with a bases loaded walk in the top of the eighth, but the Falcons got RBI singles from Espada and Grosso in the bottom of the inning.
- Joshua Santiago (New Haven, Conn.) pitched the top of the ninth and got out of a bases loaded jam without allowing a run.
