MIDDLETOWN, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus College baseball team lost a 16-6 non-conference game to Wesleyan College on Tuesday afternoon.

Adriel Espada (Bridgeport, Conn.) was 3-for-4 with two runs. Joey O'Hara (Bethel, Conn.) was 2-for-3 with two RBI and two runs.

Alex Perez (Meriden, COnn.) went 3-for-5, including a double with an RBI. Noah Grosso (Farmington, Conn.) was 2-for-3 with two RBI.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The two teams exchanged runs in the first inning as the Falcons got on the board in the top of the first inning with an RBI single by Perez to drive in Espada, who led off the game with a single of his own.
• The Falcons took a 4-1 lead in the top of the second after a two-run single from O'Hara and an RBI single from Grosso. Wesleyan answered with two runs of its own including an RBI single by Sebastian Ortiz.
• Grosso added a sacrifice fly in the top of the fourth to plate O'Hara.
• The Cardinals took a 6-5 lead in the bottom of the fifth on two bases loaded walks as well as an RBI single from Sam Hensinger. The Falcons tied the game in their next at-bat on an RBI single by Hunter Sincovic (Meriden, Conn.). Baltazar Mesa (Santo Domingo, DR) scored on the play after hitting a two-out double.
• Wesleyan broke the game open with an eight-run bottom of the sixth. Jonah Timmons had three RBI in the inning, with an RBI single to in his first at-bat of the inning and then hitting a two-run single to end the scoring as the Cardinals batted around the order. Jake Acker and Andrew DiBiasio also drove in runs on singles. Wesleyan added two more runs in the bottom of the seventh.
