A.J. Desarro returns to the Albertus Magnus College baseball program as a volunteer assistant coach in 2026. Desarro will work primarily with the team's catchers along with assisting with all other aspects of the program.
A native of Longmeadow, Massachusetts, Desarro comes to Albertus after a four year career as a catcher for Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) rival New England College. Throughout his time with the Pilgrims, he accumulated solid offensive stats including a career batting average of .257 with an on-base percentage of .316. Desarro is no stranger to baseball in Connecticut as he spends his summers coaching for the Connecticut Capitals, a AAU/club team based out of Hartford as well as playing in the Greater Hartford Twilight Baseball League, one of the region's premiere amateur baseball leagues.
Desarro graduated from NEC in 2024, earning his bachelor's degree in Sport & Recreation Management with a minor in Coaching and is currently pursuing his master's degree in Organizational Leadership at Albertus Magnus College.
