NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus College field hockey team lost a 10-2 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) match to Saint Joseph's College of Maine (SJC) on Saturday at Celentano Field.
Alexis D'Angelo (Monroe, Conn.) scored twice for her first career goals.
Ella Welton (Cliffwood, N.J.) had 15 saves on the day.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Monks scored twice inside the first six minutes of the game as Alex Graf and Maya Waryas put them on the board.
- Mariya Helmbold (Bellmawr, N.J.) found D'Angelo cutting into the shooting circle in the 13th minute, beating out her defender and firing it past SJC goaltender Gabrielle Wright to make it a 2-1 game.
- Waryas added three goals in the second quarter as the Monks took a 5-1 lead into halftime.
- The Monks scored three goals in the third quarter including two from Kenna Haley.
- D'Angelo cut the deficit to 8-2 in the 45th minute as she spun around to take a shot in the shooting circle.
- The Monks added two more goals in the fourth including the fifth goal from Waryas.

The multi-goal game from D'Angelo was the first for Albertus since Helmbold did it in a 4-0 win over Elms in 2024.
