HOW IT HAPPENED
- The early minutes of the first half showed back-and-forth scoring, as Norwich opened the game with a layup. Kirkland answered just fifteen seconds later with a three-pointer, putting the Falcons ahead. A free throw and layup from Michel Ndayishimiye put the Cadets ahead 5-3, but a three-pointer from Daniels and layup from Avery Hinnant (Naugatuck, Conn.) put the Falcons back in the lead. Norwich tied the game once more, but Daniels scored seven straight points, including a three and two layups to put the Falcons ahead, 15-8.
- Albertus pushed their lead to 12 as DJ Victory (New York, N.Y.) stripped the ball from his defender and pushed it ahead to Nate Charlot (Monroe, Conn.), who threw down a dunk to make it 22-10 with 12:43 remaining in the first half. The Falcons found their largest lead of the half fueled by two made baskets from Tahijj Hunter (Mount Laurel, N.J) and a layup from Charlot to close the half at 50-26.
- With two three-pointers from Kirkland and a layup from Daniels, the Falcons extended their lead to 30 points in the opening minutes of the second half. A three-pointer from Norwich's Joe Joe DuBrul and a layup by Ndayishimiye briefly cut the lead to 27 points twice, but the Falcons continued to charge ahead and were never threatened as an alley-oop from Victory to Rodrick Pearson (Hartford, Conn.) put the game at 87-53.
- Two made free throws and a made layup from Angel Laboy-Rivera (Yabucoa, Puerto Rico), as well as a free throw from Peter Szpakowski (Ridgefield, Conn.) capped the win for the Falcons.
