NEW LONDON, N.H. - Five players scored in double figures as the Albertus Magnus College men's basketball team closed out its regular season with its fifth straight win in a wire-to-wire 95-61 win over Colby-Sawyer College on Saturday afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action.
The Falcons, seeded third in the upcoming GNAC conference tournament, will host sixth-seeded Dean College on Tuesday, February 24th at 7 p.m. in The Nest.
Ta'zhon Daniels (New Haven, Conn.) and Ray Ford, Jr. (Jersey City, N.J.) each scored 20 points to pace the Falcons. Daniels added four rebounds, five assists and six steals while hitting three three-pointers. Ford, Jr. went 5-for-8 from three with five assists and two steals.
Isaiah Earl (Hamden, Conn.) added 14 pointson 5-for-9 shooting with four rebounds, five blocks and three steals.
Peter Szpakowski (Ridgefield, Conn.) added career-highs of 12 points and nine rebounds off the bench while Tahijj Hunter (Mount Laurel, N.J.) had a season-high 10 points on 5-for-7 shooting with four rebounds.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Earl and Ford, Jr. each hit a three to start the game for the Falcons as they took a 6-0 lead just over a minute into the game. The Chargers scored the next five points, but the Falcons responded with five of their own behind another another three from Ford, Jr. to take an 11-5 lead at 16:32 in the first half.
- After a basket by the Chargers, Earl took over with back-to-back steals that led to a dunk of his own, followed by a block which led to a basket by Hunter. Earl added another dunk and Ford, Jr. had a steal which put the Falcons ahead 22-10 with 11:56 left. Earl hit his second three of the half 36 seconds later and put the Falcons ahead 26-12.
- Szpakowski scored five straight points later on in the first half and gave Albertus a 36-18 lead with six minutes remaining. The Falcons went 11-for-14 from the free throw line in the final 6:45 of the first half to take a 50-30 lead going into halftime. Earl scored all 14 of his points in the first half, while Ford, Jr. added 11.
- Daniels scored 12 of the first 14 points of the second half for the Falcons, including three three-pointers to take a 64-35 lead at the 17:02 mark
- Four points from Hunter and three three-pointers from Ford, Jr. put the Falcons ahead 77-42 with 12:48 remaining.
- The Chargers never threatened the Falcons the rest of the way as Albertus closed out the win.
