Kirkland Named To CSC Academic All-District Team

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Jayquan Kirkland (Stratford, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus College men's basketball team was named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team on Tuesday.

Kirkland, a finance major, makes his first appearance on the CSC Academic All-District Team after a breakout season on the court.

Earlier this season, Kirkland made the All-Great Northeast Athletic Coference (GNAC) Third Team after averaging a career-high 15.5 points and 3.8 rebounds per game while shooting 40.3 percent from three.

His 56 three-pointers ranked him seventh in the conference, while his three-point percentage ranked him eighth in the GNAC.

He had six games with more than 20 points, including a career-high 33 points of 14-for-21 shooting against Saint Joseph College of Maine on January 31st. In a 95-71 win over Rutgers-Newark, Kirkland scored 31 points, going 7-for-8 from three and 11-for-13 from the field overall.

Kirkland also had 26 points with six threes against Babson and a 27-point performance against Rivier.

Kirkland will also be advanced onto the national ballot which will be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced April 14, 2026.

The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Men's Basketball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes men's basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
