HAMDEN, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus College men's golf team lost by one stroke to Mount Saint Mary's College (N.Y.) on Wednesday in a dual match at the New Haven Country Club.
Albertus finished with a score of 38-over par 318 while MSMC finished with a 37-over par 317.
For the second time this season, Pierson Hester (Nasvhille, Tenn.) was the individual medalist, shooting a 4-over par 74. He registered three birdies on the day, including holes six, nine and 10.
Mason Sassu (Rocky Hill, Conn.) and Andrew Buckholz (New Haven, Conn.) each finished with an 11-over par 81. Sassu had eight pars on the day, while Buckholz had 11.
Nick Piselli (Milford ,Conn.) finished a shot behind Sassu and Buckholz. He had birdies on holes two and three. Kyle Sikorski (Norwich, Conn.) finished with a 13-over par 84 with two birdies on the back nine.
Gabe Hill was the top finisher for MSMC with a 76, including two birdies. Ruslan Makarenko shot a 78 with three birdies on the day.
