NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus College men's golf team defeated Eastern Connecticut State University in a match play contest, 3-2 on Wednesday at New Haven Country Club.
The Falcons got wins from Kyle Sikorski (Norwich, Conn.), Andrew Buckholz (New Haven, Conn.) and Nick Piselli (Milford, Conn.) on the day.
Buckholz defeated Eliyaan Shakeel, 3 and 1, while Piselli defeated Chris Stephenson, 2-up.
In the final match of the day, Sikorski was down two going into the 15th hole, and won the final four holes to take his match and give Albertus the team win.
Pierson Hester (Nashville, Tenn.) lost 3 and 1 to Jake Napolitan and Sam Witt (Calgary, Alberta) lost 6 and 5 to Jadon Johanson.
It was senior day for the Falcons as Buckholz, Witt and Sikorski were honored.
Up next, the Falcons will play in the Old Westbury Invitational at Bethpage State Park Red Course on Friday, April 24th.
