Men's Lacrosse Rolls Past Elms For Second Straight Win

AMHERST, Mass. - Cooper Strecker (Chester, Conn.) scored five goals, and Sean Keenan (Franklin Square, N.Y.) and DaKari Coleman (Norwalk, Conn.) each scored four goals as the Albertus Magnus College men's lacrosse team blew out Elms College, 22-1 in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) game on Saturday evening.

Strecker also added four assists on the day. Marcus Burrows (West Haven, Conn.) had three goals, three assists and four ground balls. Alex Morales (Wallingford, Conn.) and Nicholas Longo (Ridge, N.Y.) each had a hat trick as well for the Falcons.

Alexis Gonzalez (Edison, N.J.) stopped five of the six shots he faced.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Albertus scored four goals in the first quarter to set the tone, as Keenan started the scoring with 8:38 on the clock off a pass from Strecker. Strecker then added his first goal of the game over five minutes later and Longo and Morales each added their first goals of the game to take a 4-0 lead heading into the second quarter.
  • Coleman scored three of the first four goals for Albertus in the second quarter, while Strecker added his second of the game and two more assists as the Falcons took an 8-0 lead with 8:44 remaining. Five different players scored the last five goals of the second quarter, including three goals in the last 1:49 as Albertus held a commanding 13-0 lead heading into halftime.
  • Morales, Keenan, Burrows and Strecker each added to their goal totals in the third quarter as Albertus took a 17-0 lead heading into the fourth.
  • Albertus added five more goals in the fourth, as Burrows, Coleman, Keenan, Longo and Strecker all scored.
