Purchase, NY - The Albertus Magnus College Falcons Men's Soccer team dropped a non conference 2-0 decision to host Manhattanville College on Wednesday afternoon.
The Falcons battled Manhattanville to a 0-0 score until the 39th minute of play when freshman forward Bryan Merlos (Harrison, NY/Harrison) finished a pass from junior midfielder Keston George (Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago/Victory Christian Academy) to give Manhattanville a 1-0 lead going into halftime.
The Falcons received a big save from freshman goalkeeper Donato Piroscafo (Naugatuck, CT/Naugatuck) to keep them in the game down tthe stretch. Manhattanville found the back of the net in the 80th minute as George blasted a ball into the upper 90 to finish the scoring on the afternoon at 2-0.
Albertus drops to 9-3 overall and 3-1 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) while Manhattanville improves to 5-3, 0-0-1 Freedom on the season. The Falcons host GNAC opponent Suffolk University on Saturday at 3:15 pm during our Annual Fall Fest Celebration.
