SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Albertus Magnus College men's soccer team opened up its season with a 3-1 non-conference loss to Springfield College on Friday evening.
Matheus Pimenta (Bridgeport, Conn.) scored the lone goal for the Falcons.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Springfield got on the board in the 13th minute on a header from Parker Thornton off a long pass from Paul Aguillon to make it a 1-0 game, a lead the Pride would take into halftime.
- The Pride scored 17 seconds into the second half as Aguillon scored on a pass from Thornton to make it a 2-0 game.
- In the 62nd minute as Michael Abayomi (Berlin, Conn.) chipped a pass from inside the box to Pimenta who volleyed the ball into the net to cut the deficit in half.
- A turnover in the defensive zone for the Falcons led to a Springfield goal by Connor Policarpio just two minutes later for the final tally of the game.
