NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus College men's tennis team won its second straight match, defeating John Jay College, 6-1 on Friday afternoon at Celentano Courts.
The Falcons swept the doubles match to get the point as Eric Chamandy (Montreal, Quebec) and Michael Ramsey (Montreal, Quebec) won, 6-4 over Samir Ghimire and Josh Clemas. Peter Keese (Minnetonka, MN) and Zane Kindrachuk (Calgary, Alberta) won 6-0 over David Reynoso and Jayden Gonzalez and Bailey Kirwin (Barrie, Ontario) and Ervie Terwilliger (Glenwood, MD.) defeated Davio Rossilevin and Manuela Orrego, 6-1.
Albertus won five of the six singles matches, all which finished in straight sets. In singles no. 1, Chamandy defeated Ghimire, 6-3, 6-0. Keese won, 6-3, 6-1 over Clemas in no. 3 singles. Kindrachuk topped Gonzalez, 6-1, 6-0 in singles no. 4.
Kirwin took care of Orrego, 6-0, 6-2 and Gustavo Flores-Soto (East Haven, Conn.) won 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 against Ian Hartigan.
The Falcons have now won two straight matches.
