Myrtle Beach, S.C. - The Albertus Magnus College softball team concluded its 2019 spring trip to the Palmetto State with a 2-0 setback against Lycoming College on Friday afternoon as part of the Fastpitch Dreams Classic.

WHAT HAPPENED

  • The Warriors struck for two runs in the first inning to go ahead, 2-0.
  • Albertus threatened Lycoming in both the fifth and sixth inning with the tying run in scoring position, but solid pitching and defense by the Warriors kept the Falcons at bay.
  • Despite the loss, Albertus continued to battle forcing Lycoming to leave nine runners stranded.

KEY STATS

  • Freshman Erin Dighello (Wallingford, Conn.) was handed the loss, allowing two runs on eight hits.
  • Junior Laura Anderson (East Haven, Conn.) was 2-for-3 to highlight the Albert Magnus hitters.
  • Sophomore Aubrey DeFoe (Watertown, Conn.) and freshman Brianna Ruggiero (East Haven, Conn.) also recorded a hit each.
