Carangelo Named GNAC Player of the Week; Schwippert Named To Weekly Honor Roll

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Karla Carangelo (Cheshire, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus College softball team was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week. Mikaela Schwippert (Whippany, N.J.) earned a spot on the GNAC Weekly Honor Roll. 

In a 4-0 week for the Falcons, Carangelo delivered a dominant performance all around the diamond. She hit .462 with a pair of home runs - both of which coming in the first game against John Jay on March 20th - to go with eight RBI on the week.

She also went 2-0 on the week in the circle, striking out eight in the second game against John Jay in four innings and followed that up with a win in game two against Simmons on March 21st, striking out two in four innings.

Schwippert batted .600 during the 4-0 stretch, going 9-for-15 overall, collecting two or more hits in each game, while scoring five runs and driving in five.
