NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus College softball team lost a 6-2 game to Manhattanville on Wednesday afternoon in a non-conference game at the Shea Softball Complex.

Mikaela Schwippert (Whippany, N.J.) was 2-for-4 with a double. Karla Carangelo (Cheshire, Conn.) had an RBI single on the day.

Annabelle Jabs (East Hartland, Conn.) struckout six batters in six innings.

Game two of the scheduled doubleheader was cancelled.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Falcons got out of a one-out bases loaded jam in the top of the first inning.
• The Valiants got on the board with a run in the top of the second on an RBI groundout by Breanna Ochoa. She then added an RBI single in the top of the fourth to make it a 2-0 lead.
• After a 25 minute rain delay, the Falcons scored in the bottom of the fifth on an error and then tied the game in the bottom of the sixth on an RBI single by Carangelo.
• Manhattanville scored four runs in the top of the seventh, including a two-run triple by Isabella Tansey and a two-run homer by Lianna Lara.
