Five Softball Players Named To CSC Academic All-District Team

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Five members of the Albertus Magnus College softball team were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team.

The 2026 Great Northeast Athletic Confefence (GNAC) champions had Annabelle Jabs (East Hartland, Conn.), Izzy Barreiro (Brookfield, Conn.), Mikaela Schwippert (Whippany, N.J.), Amelia Boulli (Torrington, Conn.) and Karla Carangelo (Cheshire, Conn.) all named to the team.

Jabs, a health sciences major, caps her career with her second appearance on the CSC All-Academic Team. Jabs was also named to the All-GNAC First Team earlier in the season and was the MVP of the 2026 GNAC Championship as she was helped lead the Falcons to their first NCAA Tournament appearance in program history. She will also be placed on the CSC All-American Ballot which will be voted on by CSC members.

Carangelo - a criminal justice major - makes her first appearance on the CSC Academic All-District Team after another standout out season in her sophomore year. The outfielder was named to the All-GNAC First Team earlier in the year after leading the conference in home runs (7) and RBI (51), while being named to the GNAC All-Tournament Team. Along with Jabs, Carangelo will also be placed on the CSC All-American ballot.

Schwippert, a sports management major, also makes her first appearance on the CSC All-District Team in her sophomore season. Schwippert also made the All-GNAC First Team earlier this season at second base after batting .367 on the season and leading the GNAC in walks with 39. She was also named to the GNAC All-Tournament Team.

Barreiro - a sophomore catcher who is majoring in mathematics - made her first appearance on the CSC All-District Team. She batted .350 on the season, while having the game-winning hit in a GNAC Tournament game against Saint Joseph's (Maine) and scored the game-winning run in the program's first ever NCAA Tournament win over Stockton University (N.J.).

Boulli - a junior outfielder majoring in business management - also made her first appearance on the CSC All-District Team. She batted .297 on the season and drove in 38 runs. She was also named to the GNAC All-Tournament Team.

In order to be eligible for the CSC Academic All-District Team, a student athlete must be at least a sophomore and have a 3.50 cumulative grade point average academically. They must also have played in 90 percent of the team's games or started in 66 percent of the team's games.
