NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Arrielys Velez (Watertown, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus College women's basketball team was named Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week for the second time in three weeks, and Adriana DeBernardo (Stratford, Conn.) was named to the Weekly Honor Roll. 

In a 2-0 week for the Falcons, Velez averaged 23 points, after scoring a career-high 35 points in a win over rival USJ, and followed that up with 11 points in a win over Rivier. The freshman guard is averaging 16.8 points per game, putting her third overall in scoring in the conference. 

DeBernardo averaged 17.5 points while also having 7.5 rebounds on the week. During the win over USJ, she had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds, while also blocking four shots. She followed that up with a career-high 23 points in the team's blowout win over Rivier.
