NEW HAVEN, Conn. -  Ariellys Velez (Watertown, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus College women's basketball team was named Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week for the third time this season. 

In a 1-1 week for the Falcons, the freshman guard averaged 21.5 points per game and four rebounds. In an 86-71 win over Mitchell on February 11, she led the team with 28 points. She followed that up by netting 15 points and grabbing four rebounds against Lasell on February 14. She currently ranks third in the GNAC in points per game.
