HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Albertus opened the scoring in the first period at the 5:07 mark when Kendall Conley (Trumbull, Conn.) collected the puck in the defensive zone and sent it ahead to Kayla Clark (Avon, Conn.). Clark and Walsh broke out on a two-on-one, with Clark feeding Walsh for the finish to give the Falcons a 1–0 lead.
  • The Falcons struck again just 23 seconds into the second period, when Walsh's shot deflected off Chatham goaltender Morgan Miller and landed on the stick of Reynolds, who buried a diving shot for her first collegiate goal, extending the lead to 2–0.
  • Albertus made it a 3-0 game when Reynolds slotted a pass between two Chatham defenders, finding Martin who fired a shot for her first goal of the game.
  • The Falcons added to their lead as Aliyah Sawyer (Colorado Springs, Colo.) won a battle along the boards and sent the puck to Conley, who found Gootjes in front of the goal. Gootjes fired it home to make it a 4–0 game.
  • Albertus capped off the scoring when Gabriella Dellacroce (Woodbridge, Conn.) connected with Martin, who raced down the ice and ripped her second goal of the game, the Falcons' fifth, making it 5–0.
  • Chatham added their lone goal of the game as Morgan Black was able to recover a loose puck and slot it past Johnson, putting the Cougars on the board at 17:24.
