Women's Ice Hockey Sweeps Weekend Series Over Salem State

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Albertus Magnus College women's ice hockey team completed a weekend sweep with a 3–1 non-conference victory over Salem State University on Saturday morning at Ralph Walker Ice Rink.

Molly Martin (Buffalo, N.Y.) led the Falcons with her 12th goal of the season, while Alana Laser (San Jose, Calif.) and Kurtia Yetman (Winnipeg, Manitoba) also found the back of the net.

In goal, Jess Trocchio (Holtsville, N.Y.) turned aside 12 shots to secure the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Falcons struck first on the power play at the 12:57 mark when Martin collected a pass from Gabriella Dellacroce (Woodbridge, Conn.) and snapped a shot from just inside the blue line past Vikings goaltender Delaney Cox for her 12th goal of the season.
  • Albertus took a 2-0 lead less than a minute later at the 13:20 mark as Blayne Dussold (Union, Mo.) found Laser in front of the net, who took a diving shot, and finished for her fourth goal of the season. 
  • The Vikings made it a 2-1 game at the 9:34 mark of the second period on the power play, when Olivia Tednes took a shot that defelcted into the net past Trocchio. 
  • The Falcons sealed their 3-1 win at the 9:23 mark on the power play, when Yetman gathered the puck off a cross ice pass from Laser and fired a shot home for her second goal of the season.
