NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus College women's lacrosse team lost a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) matchup to the Monks of Saint Joseph's College (Maine) on Saturday afternoon, 22-1 at Celentano Field. 

Jamily Carter (New Britain, Conn.) scored the lone goal for the Falcons. 

Victoria McDermott (Northford, Conn.) got the start in goal, making five saves.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Monks jumped to the early 1-0 lead just 35 seconds in as Dinah Wadleigh found the ball from Zoey Lailer. The Monks added eight more goals in the quarter, three coming from Ella Highbarger, to go up 9-0 after one.
• Taylor Dumond started the scoring for the Monks in the second quarter on a free-position shot, putting the ball past McDermott, and putting the Monks up by 10. Four more goals were scored by St. Joe's, the last two coming from Sophia Burton, as the Monks led 14-0 going into halftime.
• Burton picked up another pair of goals in the third quarter. Dumond picked up her fourth goal of the game. And Celia Melanson added a goal and two assists during the quarter as the Monks were running away with this one, leading 18-0 going into the fourth quarter.
• With under a minute to play in regulation, Carter ended the shutout as she found the net for her third goal of the season.
