NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Stacey Casorla (Southington, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus College women's soccer team was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week for her performance in a 2-0-1 week for the Falcons. Amy Stevens (Lincoln, R.I.) and Tyler Stocking (Middletown, Conn.) were both named to the GNAC Weekly Honor Roll.
Casorla scored two goals during the week for the Falcons, including one against Mitchell in a 6-0 GNAC opening win on September 10th.
On Saturday, September 13th, Casorla scored the game tying goal in the 44th minute in a 1-1 tie against Norwich University.
Casorla has three goals on the season.
Stocking had a three-goal week for Albertus, scoring once in a 5-0 win over Purchase on September 8th and scoring two more goals against Mitchell on September 10th.
This season, Stocking has four goals and an assist for nine points.
In goal, Stevens was a part of two shutouts over the week, playing the first half in the clean sheet wins over Purchase and Mitchell. Against Norwich, Stevens stopped four shots on the day.
Stevens is 4-1-1 on the season with 14 save, a 0.60 goals-against average and an .824 save percentage.
