Women's Tennis Loses Tight Match To Lehman In Season Finale

BRONX, N.Y. - JuJu Oliver (New Britain, Conn.) won both her matches, but the Albertus Magnus College women's tennis team lost its season-finale, 4-3 to Lehman on Saturday afternoon in a non-conference match.

Oliver won her doubles no. 1 match with Osiana Brown (New Haven, Conn.), in dominating fashion, 8-2 over Caroline Lopez and Shelby Gonzalez. Oliver also defeated Lopez in singles no. 1, 6-2, 6-2. Oliver won three of her last five singles matches.

Julianna Sigut (Litchfield, Conn.) won in straight sets over Nlemchukwu, 6-4, 6-3 in singles no. 3. Shawna Glasgow (Bridgeport, Conn.) won a three-set thriller in singles no. 5, 6-4, 2-6, 6-3.

In doubles no. 2 Sigut and Glasgow had a tight match with Fernanda Navarrete and Elizabeth Nlemchukwu, but lost in a tie-breaker, 9-7. Lehman took the doubles point as it won doubles no. 3 as Iris Everett and Vitoria Heloany Reis beat Gabby Augustin and Bailey Mitchell-Warren, 8-4.
