Men's Ice Hockey Falls To Nazareth In The UCHC Quarterfinals

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The Albertus Magnus College men's ice hockey team's season came to an end on Wednesday afternoon after a 4-3 loss to Nazareth in double-overtime in the United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) first round.

Kyle Dann (Windham, N.H.) netted two for the Falcons while Justin Sullivan (Laval, Quebec) added goal.

Chace Hale (Pittsburgh, Pa.) stopped 52 of the 56 shots he faced on the evening, which was a career-high.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Albertus struck first as Brett Boucher (Fort McMurray, Alberta) gathered the puck at center ice, finding Caden Pattison (Lake Stevens, Wash.), who sent a cross ice pass to Dann. Dann fired a shot right past Nazareth goaltender, Paul Dalessio, for his seventh goal of the season. 
  • Sullivan added his tenth goal of the season as he took a slapshot past Dalessio gathering the puck right off the faceoff at the 5:48 mark of the second period, making it a 2-0 game. 
  • The Golden Flyers scored their first goal of the game at the 16:25 mark of the second period on the power play, as Nate Dann recieved a centering pass and finished the puck past Hale. 
  • The Falcons made it a 3-1 game as Dann stole the puck in the defensive zone, beating multiple Nazareth defenders, and beating Dalessio one-on-one for his eighth goal of the season, and second of the game. 
  • Nazareth added another goal just 47 seconds later, as Harrison Dumas recieved a threading pass to make the game 3-2. 
  • Mann added the game-tying goal after capitalizing on a deflected shot, sending the game into overtime. 
  • The Golden Flyers netted the game-winning goal in double-overtime when Lucas Stanojevic capitalized on a shot that ricocheted off the board behind the goal.
