Kyle Wallack Steps Down As Men's Ice Hockey Coach; Named Associate Head Coach At Yale

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Albertus Magnus College men's ice hockey head coach Kyle Wallack has announced his departure from Albertus to accept the Associate Head Coach position at Division I Yale University.

Wallack is the first and only head coach in program history, amassing an 81-65-5 record during his six seasons. The Falcons won a program-best 17 games during the 2022-23 season and won 16 games on three different occasions. Wallack has won four games over nationally ranked opponents, including a 3-2 overtime win over No. 1 and at the time, back-to-back Division III National Champion, Hobart College, which snapped a 42-game unbeaten streak.

"I want to thank Kyle for his eight years of service to Albertus. The work that Kyle, his staff and student-athletes have put into building a nationally competitive men's ice hockey program from the ground up has been remarkable," Kobylanski said. "The academic success of his student-athletes since the program's launch has also been a point of pride for our athletic department and the College as a whole. In a short period of time, the program has produced a Hockey Humanitarian Award finalist, a NCAA Post-Graduate Scholarship recipient, and on campus, have earned laurels such as Student Leader of the Year and Class Marshal.

"Having known Kyle for more than 25 years, I wish him and his family all the best as he returns to Yale. We will move quickly to find his successor with the intent of continuing success in all facets within the men's ice hockey program."

Wallack himself was twice named the Division III Independent Coach of the Year and has coached eight All-Independent/Conference Players and two Division III Independent Players of the Year and one Rookie of the Year.

A national search for the next head coach will begin immediately.
