  • 2012-13 GNAC All-Academic Team Announced

    The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) has announced the All-Academic Team for the 2012-13 school year. Thirty-six student-athletes from Albertus Magnus College were among the 757 members of the Academic Team from 13 full-time institutions and 12 affiliate member institutions in the conference. The student-athletes selected had to meet the following criteria: maintain a 3.25 cumulative grade point average, complete at least one full season of competition at a GNAC institution and is of sophomore status academically.

  • Falcon Athletes Come Together for Volunteer Campus Clean-Up

    Hurricane Sandy, which left a path of destruction, flooding and power outages throughout the East Coast earlier this week, left quite a mess on the Albertus Magnus College campus. The Albertus Athletic Department, along with many of its student-athletes, quickly sprang into action, setting up a volunteer campus clean-up on Thursday, November 1.

The contest marked the Falcons’ final GNAC regular-season match of 2012, while they finish with a 7-3-2 record in league play.

With one goal in the contest, Danielle Figueroa (Bridgeport, Conn.) became the all-time leader in points in Albertus Magnus women’s soccer program history with 77.

With her performance on Monday, she led her Falcons to a 2-0 win over Suffolk in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play.

    In the second-straight contest, freshman Acacia Nelson (Bridgeport, Conn.) scored the game-winning goal to lift the Falcons to victory in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play. In Saturday's overtime thriller, Nelson finished on a header off of a corner kick by Shelley Mirmina (Milford, Conn.) in the 97th minute of play as the Falcons defeated Johnson & Wales (R.I.) 2-1 in Providence, R.I.

  • Figueroa Becomes the Falcons' All-Time Leader in Assists

    The Albertus Magnus College women's soccer program has a new all-time leader in assists. With an assist against Norwich University on Saturday, senior Danielle Figueroa (Bridgeport, Conn.) surpassed former record holder Sam Gigliotti (2007-10) and etched her name into the Falcons record books. The assist was the 14th of her career and her third of the 2012 season.
